Competency - the ability to do something successfully or efficiently.

Acronym - an abbreviation formed from the initial letters of other words and pronounced as a word eg. NASA.

Ambiguous - open to more than one interpretation, or not having one obvious meaning.

Pandemic - an outbreak of a disease across a whole country, or the whole world.

Repercussion - an unintended consequence of an event or action, especially an unwelcome one.

Climate change - a change in global or regional climate patterns, attributed largely to the increased levels of atmospheric carbon dioxide produced by the use of fossil fuels.

Wicked problem - a problem that is difficult or impossible to solve because of incomplete, contradictory, and changing requirements that are often difficult to recognise.

UN - United Nations, an international governing body formed in 1945 to increase political and economic cooperation among its member countries.

UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) - a list of goals set out by the UN to eradicate poverty and achieve a sustainable world.

Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Compass - guidance for companies on taking a strategic approach to the SDGs and enhancing their contribution to sustainable development through core business activities.

Align - to line up or come together.

Vertical farming - the practice of growing crops in vertically stacked layers.

Sustainability - a societal goal that broadly aims for humans to safely co-exist on planet Earth over a long time - in other words, looking after the environment as best we can.

Inclusive - to embrace all people irrespective of race, gender, disability, medical or other need.

Equitable - fair and impartial.

Company culture - how things get in a workplace, and how employees and customers experience the company as a result.

Black Lives Matter - a social movement that seeks to highlight racism, discrimination, and inequality experienced by Black people.

Governance - the act or process of governing or overseeing the control and direction of something.

Gender diversity - equitable or fair representation of people of different genders.

Profit - the excess money made by a company after the costs and expenses of running the business are accounted for. 

People of Colour - a broad term for people who aren't White.

LGBTQ+ - an initialism that stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer plus more gender identities. In use since the 1990s, the initialism, as well as some of its common variants, functions as an umbrella term for sexuality and gender identity.

Framework - a basic structure underlying a system, concept, or text.

Tiimiakatemia - a methodology of Team Learning, first developed in Finland.
