Human rights violations - the disallowance of the freedom of thought and movement to which all humans legally have a right.

Asylum seeker - a person who has left their country and is seeking protection from persecution and serious human rights violations in another country, but who hasn't yet been legally recognised as a refugee and is waiting to receive a decision on their asylum claim.

Welfare benefits - money paid by the government to people who are ill, poor, or have no job.

Intervention - the action or process of intervening, possibly to improve things.
