Studying Biomedical Sciences BSc (Hons) at Leeds Beckett University will put you at the forefront of the fight against critical public health issues. Having access to specialist laboratories and equipment, you will gain an in-depth knowledge into how the human body works in terms of health and disease all while building your understanding of advancements in the field of Biomedical Science with this industry accredited degree.
Where your first year will introduce you to the world of Biomedical Sciences, you will have the opportunity in your second year to either continue with a BSc (Hons) accreditation in Biomedical Sciences, or follow one of Leeds Beckett University’s pathway courses and begin to specialise in areas such as Pharmacological Science or Medical Biochemistry.
Throughout your study, you will be given hands-on experience in the field using specialist laboratories utilising cell culture suites. By using the latest data and AV technology, you will learn more about your industry in fascinating lectures, and work in groups to develop your skills as a biomedical scientist.
There is also plenty of opportunity to take your skills into the working world between your second and third years - enhancing your practical skills and developing your career contacts. This course is also aligned to meet the criteria required to join the NHS Scientist Training Programme, giving you a head start on developing your career.
