The course is endorsed by the British Association of sport and exercise sciences (BASES) and ranks 3rd for graduate outcomes in the 2023 Complete University Guide.
Location and facilities
Located on the University of Bedfordshire’s Bedford campus, you will have access to the state of the art facilities in the School of Sport Science and Physical Activity. These include: six purpose-built BASES-accredited sport and exercise science laboratories (with equipment including online gas-analysis machines, an environmental chamber, 3D motion analysis and echocardiography); a nutrition research kitchen; and two molecular and cellular physiology labs.

Throughout your degree you will develop a sound knowledge of the science of sport and exercise, including anatomy, biomechanics and physiology, as well as the fundamentals of sports performance, including nutrition and coaching. Through optional modules you can branch into specialisms in psychology, biomechanics or physiology, learning to apply your knowledge practically and in different contexts. You will also be equipped with essential academic writing and research skills, with plenty of time spent in laboratory facilities and working on real projects for elite sports teams, governing bodies and government initiatives.
